And You Think Your Teen Is Bad?

Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority;

they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise;

they no longer rise when elders enter the room;

they contradict their parents, chatter before company;

gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.

I sooo agree with you. My parents are always shocked by the ways my boys talk back at me. In those days, I would have been punished big time.

Clearly, some things never change, even after 1,000's of years!

LOL! I was nodding my head, saying, "Yes! Totally! What's wrong with kids today?!", only to get a dose of reality - I MUST have been the same way when I was younger, especially if Socrates remarked on it a light year ago! ;-)

Well, I'm not sure if it's any comfort to know teens were like that ages and ages ago but at least things aren't getting any worse, right? LOL

I heard this years ago, it's great! You think, "oh yes, teenagers today are TERRIBLE...!" and then comes the SOCRATES. Hmmm, must be a Human Condition thing? x
