Normal kids slump in their seats with embarrassment when they have lice. My kids jump and sing and broadcast it joyfully to the world. After all, there is no shame in lice. However, people do tend to lean away from you and avoid playdates and hugs.
We discovered a local shop that de-bugs you. It's a great place to go if you're filthy full of lice and filthy rich. Birk's first visit was $200.00. Our second visit was $300.00. I've destroyed three North Face sleeping bags in the dryer on high heat. I don't even want to do the math on that one.
Sorry, kids, we were going to have Christmas, but we decided to do "Lice" instead.

We got debugged last year. I would only do that. It's worth every penny!
OMG holy cow. I have been lucky with the boys they always had their hair shaved. Chloe thank goodness hasn't had it yet I say yet because she starts kinder next year so bust out the bug spray.
I remember when we were too poor to buy the stuff and my mom seriously put raid in our head then wrapped it with a plastic bag... crazy I know...... that might explain the twitches I get now and then ROFL...
OMG-not fun! Sorry :( I'm crossing my fingers my kids don't get it!
I didn't know there were places that did it for you. Do they come to your house? That's fantastic.
I'd pay it too. Those suckers are hard to get rid of.
Ack. We have no direct experience with lice, but I figure our day will come eventually. I will bust out the razors! I can do that with three boys and the hubs. If I get it, I'm not sure what I'll do!
Saw your post and it made me laugh, been there and done that. Helpfull hint if you have a deep freeze put the sleeping bags and pillows in there for 48 hours. I sealed mine in trash bags. The cold kills the bugs too. Hope this helps
Are you serious?? There are places that actually do that for you! I'm gonna have to keep that in mind as I know a lice infestation will probably happen in our household at least once during my lifetime.
Yuck! Sorry to hear it, but it's definitely going around. I think I know the delousing place you're referring to- such a cute name-but wow! I had no idea it was that pricey!
oh my,,, so sorry to hear you had to celebrate Christmas early!!! What a way to do it...hopefully you are de-bugged now! Thankfully we have never had the "problem" hopefully we never will! Memories.... what fun!
Hi! Saw this title and decided to stop by as we are currently in the de-lousing process right now too! It sucks! So far only one has had it. I caught it very early but I have dedicated now an entire week to washing everything and vacuuming and I just know I'm not getting it all! And now I feel like I'm just waiting for more to hatch. Ugh! Hope it goes away fast! You're brave to admit it - like you said - everyone will shy away if I say anything even though I don't see anything on my kids anymore.
